The Venue

We are please to be taking Eastercon back to the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, the venue for the 2011 Eastercon "Illustrious"

To find out more about how INNOMINATE is using the hotel - visit our Venue Map

Hotel Location

Our hotel is located next to the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) and is, although we hope not to need them, surrounded by a number of other hotels, some within walking distance.

Also close to the hotel is an entertainment complex which has been developed since 2011 - which includes numerous (and varied) restaurants and an international craft beer bar.

If you want even more variety, you can walk, or catch the free hotel shuttle to Birmingham International rail station and catch a train to Birmingham city centre, where you will find even more bars, restaurants and even more entertainment that at Innominate.

Hotel Booking

The hotel still has Single, Queen and Twin stand rooms at £89 Single and £100 Queen/Twin per night bed & breakfast and both Twin and Double executive rooms at reduced rates. If you want to book one of the few remaining rooms please click on the "Hotel Booking" button at the top of this page.

However there are four hotels within walking distance of the Metropole and details of these can be found on our "Overflow Hotels" page a link to which can also be found at the top of this page.

The convention room block and rates are held to 29 March 2017. But after that we cannot guarantee you will be able to get a room at the convention rate.

But if you have any access requirements. Please make a standard booking and then contact our access team giving them your confirmation number and access requirements and they will do their best to switch your booking to an appropriate access room. You can use the button below to contact the access team.

PLEASE NOTE: The Hotel is out of Access rooms on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 April

Hotel Travel

The Hilton Birmingham Metropole is easily accessible by road, rail and air. It's served by the Birmingham Internation train station and airport, and is next to the NEC and Genting Arna.

Arriving by Air

There are direct flights to Birmingham International Airport from most countries in continental Europe and even a few direct flight from cities in North America

Once you have arrived, and are through customs and immigration use the free telephone at the airport meeting point (sign posted with the Hilton logo) to let the hotel know you have arrived and will need to be picked up. Then take the free mono-rail to Birmingham International Rail Station where the shuttle will be able to pick you up.

The journey takes approximately five minutes and the hotel's courtesy bus runs every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day.

Arriving by Train

From Birmingham New Street Station take the train to Birmingham International Station (Trains from the North West going to Euston probably already stop there, and you do not need to change). The Journey normally takes about 10-15 minutes with trains running on average every 10 minutes up to just before midnight.

At Birmingham International Station use the free telephone at the station to let the hotel know you need to be picked up and then catch the next courtesy bus to the hotel. The journey takes approximately five minutes and the bus runs every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day.

Arriving by Car

There are an infinite number of routes you could take to get to the hotel. But most will take you to, or near, J6 on the M42, which can be joined from the M40 and the M6. From there follow the signs for the NEC and then when sign posted to the Hilton - which will take you to the hotel car park.

Hotel Parking

The convention hotel car park is large and open to both residents and non-residents. We have done a deal so that residents parking is £9 per night for our members (Reduced from £12). This reduced rate should be automatic if you have booked through the convention block and you will pay on check-out

We have also negotiated the same rate for our non-resident members - however you will need to go to the Operations desk each day to pick up a pre-printed parking ticket for the day and then use this at the payment machine and on exit.

Although the hotel is large, it might get full, in which case there is a nearby NEC car-park. But we cannot say at this time what the rates will be.
